About the Sunbury line
The Sunbury line is part of the Metro Tunnel on the Metro Trains Melbourne network. Its 16 stations run from Town Hall out to Sunbury, and its trains do not stop in the city: they continue straight through the tunnel as Cranbourne and Pakenham line services. The line runs through the new Metro Tunnel (Arden, Parkville, State Library, Town Hall and Anzac) rather than the City Loop. Change at Footscray for Werribee and Williamstown trains, at State Library (underground link to Melbourne Central) or Town Hall (link to Flinders Street) for the City Loop lines, and at Anzac for St Kilda Road trams. Trains continue through the tunnel towards Caulfield, Dandenong, Cranbourne and East Pakenham.
